Our vision of sustainable fashion is to make products without waste, using skilled artisans, thinking deeply about use of fabrics and work processes.
Our Values
We care about the environment. We care about the people who produce our clothing. We despise waste. HODA is the antithesis of fast fashion. Many of our fabrics are in their second or third incarnation. We love it that a dress we design and produce may have had a former life as a sari at an Indian wedding.
Our Factory
We work with a wonderful extended family of tailors in Rajasthan, India. They help us source fabrics, they cut and sew, print our labels and take real pride in their work. They have generations of experience in textiles and are a constant source of inspiration.
Our Shipping
Our 100% compostable mailer bag is a great step towards sustainable packaging, and can be composted both at home and commercially. They are made from a combination of PBAT, a bio-based polymer which is compostable, and PLA which is made up of plant materials such as regular field corn and wheat straw. PLA makes up barely 0.05% of the annual global corn crop, making it an incredibly low-impact resource.
Our Community
HODA prospers only through the goodwill of friends, family and our loyal customers. The women who wear out clothes tend to share our values and we love that about them.
